This is an extension of the Guidebook on the AirBnB web site; it has more facilities, and is more uptodate. Don't forget to add your own suggestions from the TELL US! page.

at the top right of the page.
The map
The (Google) map initially shows all of the items in the guidebook. You can hover over a marker to see the name of the item, and click on the marker to see a description within the map. Apart from the standard Google buttons, the buttons on the right allow you to:- enlarge or shrink the map (close the info panel first)
- view all markers (after you have made a selection)
- realign the map (to show all of the current markers)
- Select only items within a given distance of the apartment
Sections and icons
The items are divided into sections — Arts and Entertainment
,
Sightseeing
etc,
which correspond to the items in the AirBnB guidebook.
- Click on a section heading to see just those items on the map.
- Click on an item within a section to see just that item. You will see directions on the map, with distance and time; you can switch between walking and public transport directions. Click on the details pane for travel instructions. You can email these to yourself to protect your data allowance.
Extended categories
As well as belonging to a section, each item has a number of associated categories — for example, the Royal Festival Hall (Arts and Entertainments) also contains a bookshop and a bar. If you click on either of these names in the Extended Categories list, it will appear in the list, and the marker will appear on the map.Distances
Distances are "as the crow flies" (straight line from the apartment to the item). You can specify your units:Browser history
